In short

SPLIT works entirely on your phone. It uses no server, no account, no advertising, no advertising identifier and no remote tracking SDK. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us.

What is stored, and where

Your saved sessions, favourites, settings, your eight most recent timers and your last 200 history entries are stored in the app’s private storage on your phone. Statistics are computed on the device. The last Flutter error report is also kept locally, for troubleshooting only.

Microphone and voice recordings

In Voice mode, SPLIT asks for microphone access only when you record a cue. Recordings stay in the app’s private storage and are never uploaded. You can play, replace or delete each one from the settings. A recording lasts five seconds at most, and an interrupted recording never replaces the previous one.

Notifications and background use

Android. During a workout, SPLIT uses a foreground service notification, vibration and a partial wake lock so cues keep playing with the screen locked. The screen can stay on while a session is active in the foreground. The notification permission is requested on your first start, and the timer waits for your answer before starting.

iPhone. Background notifications are optional and off by default. Once enabled, a link lets you grant the system permission. Alerts are scheduled locally on the phone; no push server is involved. Voice files used for alerts stay in the app’s private Library/Sounds folder.

Feedback

Sending feedback opens your phone’s share sheet. Nothing is sent unless you choose an app yourself and complete the share.

Backups and deletion

• Android system backup is disabled for SPLIT.
• On iPhone, your library, session snapshots, diagnostics and local sounds are excluded from iCloud backup.
• Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of your data.
• SPLIT does not currently offer sync or export.
